Dreaming of a triathlon

So the last few weeks has found me more interested in riding my bike. I have mostly been on the trainer, but have been on the road 2-3 times as well. I even hopped off the bike on Friday night (4/15) after 50 minutes of riding and ran the .6 mile loop in my neighborhood in 4:19. I guess that is when the dream began. I convinced myself in less than 60 minutes that a triathlon was still possible. For me, what was key, is that I wasn’t totally spent after that 4:19 loop (7:11 pace). I had something left in the tank, but I had accomplished my goal – convincing myself that I still had it in me.

If I can manage to develop a short training routine and get in gear, I may just show-up at the Buster Britton Memorial Triathlon on June 11th. Wish me luck.

Regards,
“Former” Ironman Triathlete
